Mr. Olander was formerly an Assistant Director of Legal Affairs (A.D.L.A.) in the Chambers of the Attorney-General, Nassau, The Bahamas. Mr. Olander was admitted to the Bahamas Bar on the 27th October, A.D. 1989.

At resignation from The Office of the Attorney General Mr. Wellington E. Olander held the position of Assistant Director of Legal Affairs. Duties included acting at times as Director of Public Prosecutions, supervising attorneys in all aspects of Criminal prosecutions. Render legal opinions; give lectures relating to the Criminal Law to police, any government or quasi-governmental agency or public corporation. Appear as lead Counsel for any serious criminal matter before the Magistrate Court, Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.
He has represented the Attorney-General Office at many Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF) meetings. During the period 1992-1999 was the main Attorney responsible for Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty matters; and during the period 1997-1999 was the contact Officer in the Attorney General Office for all Suspicious Transaction Reports.
In 1997 he was a Participant at the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FINCEN) and INTERPOL Working Group Meeting on the Analysis of Financial Records in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1999 a Participant at the Seventeen International Symposium on Economic Crime held at Jesus College, Cambridge England.
